PFI Registration:

Welcome to the PFI registration and contact page.  Please read the information below. If you are an educator who serves K-12 students and would like to register for one or more of the PFI workshops, please click the registration form button to the left.  If you do not wish to register, but would like to receive information about workshops, please click the contact form button to the left.

Workshop Fees: 

The USDA Forest Service has been a wonderful partner for the Pisgah Forest Institute, but that partnership is coming to an end. The 2010 workshop season will be the last season funded by the USDA Forest Service. In fact, the funding for the 2010 season was a result of savings by the PFI staff from the 2008-2009 grant cycle. As a result, PFI must institute participant fees that will be used to offset some of our operating costs.

• All workshops require a $50 registration fee to hold your space, once submitted this fee is no longer refundable.

• When you arrive for registration on the first day of the summer workshops:
• A 6-day workshop will cost an additional $50.
• A 3-day workshop will cost an additional $25.

Your stay, while attending the Pisgah Forest Institute's summer workshops, includes meals and lodging at Brevard College.

Please be aware that PFI cannot provide room or board on the days between any of our summer workshops (on Saturdays for example).  However, if there are two back-to-back 3 day workshops during the same week you may stay the night in between these two workshops.

To register for a PFI workshop the following steps are necessary: 

• Fill out the on-line registration form which will only pre-registers you.
• Print out the filled out registration form.
• To hold your reservation for a workshop, we require a $50 registration fee per workshopin the form of a check.
• If you register for more than one workshop, please include a separate check for each workshop.
• Your check(s) once submitted are no longer refundable, and will be cashed once they are received.
• Mail a copy of your registration form along with your check(s).
• Once PFI receives your check(s) and a copy of your registration form, PFI will notify you regarding your ‘status’ within your chosen workshop(s).

Make Checks payable to: "Pisgah Forest Institute" with the workshop name/date on the memo line.

We urge you to send in your registration fee as soon as possible as our workshops, each of which is limited to 24 participants, will fill rapidly. Only your $50 registration check ensures your registration in a workshop!

If workshops are full when PFI receives your deposit check:

• If the workshop you choose is already full by the time we receive (in our PFI office) your registration check, PFI will notify you and give you the choice of: being placed on a wait list, applying your registration fee to register for another workshop, or return/shred your check.
• If you opt to be placed on the wait list your check will be cashed, you will be notified as soon as we have an opening, or we will notify you no less than 1 week prior to the workshop if no openings become available. We have been known to have last minute cancellations.
• If the workshop is still filled 1 week prior to the start of the workshop, we will issue you a full refund.

Cancellations:

• If you cancel your reservation more than 30 days prior to the scheduled start date of the workshop, you will receive a partial refund of $25.
• If you cancel your reservation less than 30 days prior to the scheduled start date of the workshop, you will forfeit the $50 registration fee.

Registrant Packet:

The ‘registrant packet’ will be made available to you no less then 30 days before the start of your scheduled workshop. This packet will also ask for emergency contact information, rooming preferences and needs, dietary restrictions (i.e. vegetarian) and other pertinent information. We will also provide a packing list, map and other information to help make your stay at Brevard College, just like being at home (almost).
